Feb and March have been really busy months for us. I've been really horrible on this blog. So here is quick run down on what has been happening over here in this crazy house :)
- I have officially lost my baby. While Evan still whines and walks in my direction when he needs something, he does not like to be held or rocked. It is really hard for me to understand this because I was rocking Colin to sleep (ssmhh first time parent i know) until he was 18 months old. But I really enjoyed that. I also remember waking up every morning with Colin and rocking him while the sun slowly rose and Justin showered for the day. Evan would rather jump over his crib and run downstairs if i let him.
- Colin doesnt quite get that Evan doesnt understand what he is saying just yet. "Evan you want to go play hockey"... "EVAN!" I can't tell you how many times I've told Colin that he doesnt know what he is saying just yet. Colin is pretty darn good when it comes to sharing with Evan. Evan.. not so much. He may just be the bully after all.
- I got to see some great friends in February. I made it a goal of mine to really get out more. With two kiddos we really devote all our time to them but I have found it to be just as important for some time away. Justin and I got our first non family babysitter last month and stayed in town with some great friends who were visiting. It worked great and I can't wait to make it more of a habit.
-The winter months are killing all of us. We finally added a deck and those poor guys were building that thing in the darn snow. But we are so excited to be spending more family time outside, eating dinner and watching the boys play in the yard. It's going to be such a breath of fresh air, literally.
-I have started a smiley system with Colin to reward his good behavior and it is working like a charm. If any teachers out there have any other suggestions, I will gladly take them!
-I am still taking photos as a side hobby and I love doing it but last fall I really did way too much so I have had to turn down a lot of sessions and really prioritize my time. I am really so thankful for such a supportive family.
-Justin and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary in June and while planning a few things it has really made me reflect lately how much has changed in these 5 years. While we aren't going to Paris I've convinced Justin to do something that means something very special to me and I'm so excited about it!

evan
evan at this stage is exhausting. he opens doors, runs everywhere he wants to go, climbs up on chairs, tables whatever he can do to get somewhere faster. He's loud and by no means is going to let his brother outshine him. in fact he usually wins tug-of-war with toys with his older stronger brother. he has an evil eye. shakes his hand no no when he is on his way to do something wrong. he is such a stinker and he knows it. its so exhausting this age.. its a good thing he's cute.
