First Roll!

As with anything related to photography I am never happy with where I am and know that I have a zillion things to learn. I wanted to try one roll of film and I have to say I was really really expecting the results to be horrible. The light meter in the camera never read what my app light meter was telling me and I just couldn't shell out $300 for a light meter for a small little 'this would be cool' project. But um I may have to shell out some mula.. because I am in love.

Digital is so real time causing you to take a million photos. With film you really have to choose your moments wisely and that's not easy with these two. Maybe I'll practice my next roll on a willing standing couple. 

Evan lately!

I said that I was going to take a blog break this summer but I've been scolded by some family members who aren't on facebook :)  And photos look better on my blog than they do on Facebook.

So...my house is as crazy as its ever been. I am so serious. I have two toddler BOYS running wild and it is crazy as you might imagine. I used to play with barbies and my doll house quietly in the other room when I was young. The scene is my house couldn't be more opposite. Justin loves it. He feeds into it and I find myself looking at him like you can't be serious. He plays rough and they play rough back.

Evan is a sweet sweet boy but he is such quiet trouble maker. When he's doing something wrong you can hear a pin drop in my house. And it's because Colin is also whispering in his ear "yah.. do it.. open the front door.. here i'll unlock it for you.. go ahead". Help me.

I have come to learn how different Evan and Colin are. At 19 months if someone took a toy out of Colin's hands the world as he knew it was destroyed. Evan just looks at Colin like "thats not cool" and moves on. He's a tough one and I now know what it means to be a second child.. i've never known. But I'm very sensitive to making sure both Colin and Evan play nicely and get in trouble evenly.. which is hard.

I spent the day with just Evan last weekend and it was so nice to get that 1-1 time with him. We went up the street to the barn and took a few photos before getting ice cream.
