evan

Evan at 16 months is a pistol. He laughs when Colin pushes him out of his way, he takes toys right out of Colin's hands, he climbs tables, stands on chairs, opens doors, bangs any object on any surface. He is a handful and we can't take our eyes off him for 10 seconds. If ever I thought I'd have a laid back child- I should have known better. He's all boy just like his wild brother. Lord help us.

sunshine + happiness

they love being outside and i love that they love being outside :) its good for all of us! they are both very much obsessed with copying everything daddy does outside. Colin calls yard work "hard work" and his dad decided that was more on the money and not correct him :) we do "hard work" mommy.

This child will grab a room's attention in more ways than one. I know with certainty that he will give me many difficult roads ahead, that he will be a class clown when he gets older, he will not let anyone sit him on the sideline, he will make sure everyone knows when they are right or wrong, he will have a really deep connection with his brother for all their lives and he is going to treat the ladies like he does his mom. he's only three but i know like a mom just knows.

Colin is running from one thing to another, he's not the best at playing by himself but secretly how could you not join a ridiculously sweet voice asking "daddy you play hockey with me". Melts my heart. He remembers things even when you think he's too busy to notice. He tries to talk to Evan when he is upset and offers him suggestions "evan you want mom to get your paci", "here evan come play with me, it's ok". Sweetest. But truth be told this child throws a really really good tantrum. He's also really great at pretend throwing up. He is mr. personality and he knows it.

I can't believe it's been three years. We've battled our difficult days of the terrible threes already but I am really enjoying his age and hearing all the things he has had stuck inside his head verbalized. I love his little voice, his kissable cheeks and when he makes facial expressions I see both his dad and I in.

A very special happy birthday to the little man who always keeps us on our toes and always always laughing. I love you so :)

spring!

ahhh.. wine, sunshine and happy kids makes a really perfect sunday afternoon. Sunset Hills is a favorite and we've never seen it so crowded. I think everyone around here has been itching for some nice spring weather.. its short lived once summer rolls in. We really really love our wine country :)

easter fun

I don't normally post outtakes of photos but I want people to clearly understand that these two are not generally easy to capture. Typically as with any photo I take 25 to get 1. Hopefully nobody thinks my boys are angels or just smile all nicely for my camera when I take it out. Yah no. It usually goes something like this..

me: "colin want to take a picture with evan?"
colin: "noooooo, later"
me: "please, it will take two seconds. dont you want to make mommy happy today and be a good listner?"
colin: "nooo! hahahahaha"...  evil laughter that child
evan: (running around pulling down lamps and things off counters while im not looking)
justin: "oh babe just let them relax and lets not take photos again.. you took their photo last easter"
me: "colin ill give you a cracker"
evan: screaming in sight of the cracker box
colin: "cracker!! yayyyyy!"
me: "sit on this step, no not that step.quick! ok here comes evan! give him a nice hug...nicelyyyyy! no, not too tight, not too tight!"

seriously, its exhausting but everyone is very happy when I get a good framer and i try to tell myself they will appreciate it years to come.

see? love :) don't they look like angels? then my husband later is all like "did you tag me in that one on facebook??" geesh, no credit over here.

now this sweet one.. she's fast but I don't have to bribe her yet :)

it's just hard to crack a smile unless her dad walks around the corner. this little gal is a for sure daddy's girl, it's sweet. but clearly i don't have her daddy's skills. her little round eyes and bows just kill me... love her.
